Doug Betters is the classic example of a draft-day steal. Selected in the sixth round by the Miami Dolphins in 1978, Betters would go on to spend his entire 10-year career in orange and aqua and joining with our very own Kim Bokamper as a member of the fabled Killer B’s Defense. Betters was named the NFL Defensive Player of the Year in 1983, as well as a first team All-Pro and Pro Bowl selection that same year. He participated in two Super Bowls with Miami and is a member of the team’s Ring of Honor. In this episode, Doug, Bo and Joe reminisce about their time playing together, as well as Doug’s life after football and the life-altering accident he suffered while skiing.
